Pacific Palisades & Adjacent Areas Boil Water Notice: The unprecedented demand for water in the Pacific Palisades over a sustained period for firefighting efforts has resulted in significant low water pressure in the Pacific Palisades area. As is common in many wildfire situations, this reduces water quality and can pose a health risk. LADWP and the State Water Resources Control Board Division of Drinking Water strongly advise consumers in the 90272 zip code and adjacent communities north of San Vicente Blvd. to ONLY USE BOILED TAP WATER OR BOTTLED WATER FOR DRINKING AND COOKING PURPOSES until further notice. Report Issues via MyLA311: Use MyLA311 to report issues like tree limbs blocking roads or other city service needs. You can also download the MyLA311 app.
LA Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA): LAHSA has been conducting outreach to individuals living on the streets in high fire severity zones since Friday, January 3rd, and will continue to do so in the coming days. If you know someone in need of outreach services during this emergency, you can call their hotline number: (213) 225-6581

For those in evacuation zones below is a list of evacuation centers that you can take shelter at. For your own safety, you must evacuate as soon as authorities ask. Small animals will only be accepted at city-run centers (Boyle Heights City Hall & El Sereno District Office).

Apply today with South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) for their Residential Air Filtration program. Residents of the Boyle Heights, East Los Angeles, West Commerce and Eastern Coachella Valley AB 617 Communities can receive a FREE air purifier and replacement filters!

This program aims to reduce residential exposure to particulate matter which our area suffers from.

Residences near sources of diesel particulate matter (DPM) will get first priority.

All Los Angeles Unified schools and offices will be closed on Friday, Jan. 10. The confluence of factors – wind, fire, and smoke – have created unpredictable, complex situations that present potentially unsafe conditions for our school communities. Select essential personnel will be contacted by their supervisors regarding potential work duties. As the Los Angeles region continues responding to this unprecedented crisis, the health and safety of our students and employees are of the utmost importance.

As part of the District’s Continuity of Learning efforts, students will continue to have digital access to academic resources. More information is available at https://www.lausd.org/learningcontinues.

Available resources include the following:

Meal Distribution: From 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Jan. 10, Los Angeles Unified will have 16 sites to provide meals for students . District families may stop by and walk into any of these locations to receive two meals per student. This will only be available for Los Angeles Unified students.
- North: Mulholland Middle School, Sepulveda Middle School, San Fernando Middle School, Richard E. Byrd Middle School
- East: Hollenbeck Middle School, South Gate High School, Los Angeles Academy Middle School, John H. Liechty Middle School
- South: Fremont High School, Harry Bridges Span School Edwin Markham Middle School, Barack Obama Global Preparation Academy
- West: Marina Del Rey Middle School, Sonia Sotomayor Arts and Sciences and Magnet, Berendo Middle School, Fairfax High School
Mental Health Support Services: Los Angeles Unified students and families in need of mental health support are encouraged to call our Student and Family Wellness Resource Line at 213-241-3840. Support is currently available between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Employees may access Employee Assistance Service for Education (EASE) by visiting https://www.lausd.org/domain/1438 or calling the 24/7 support line at 800-882-1341.
Other Resources: We encourage members of the Los Angeles Unified family who are in need during this difficult time to visit lausd.org to learn about available City, County, and community-based resources and connect with entities who are prepared to assist.
