Andy Lomeli is a proud second-generation Boyle Heights resident. He is currently an Associate Development Manager at the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund, the nation’s leading nonprofit that facilitates full Latino participation in the American political process. Andy has a B.A. in History from Stanford University and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from UC-Berkeley. He also currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Goldman School of Public Policy Alumni Association. Andy is passionate about empowering young people from underserved communities to pursue careers in public policy. His father, a Mexican immigrant, successfully established and ran an upholstery business in the heart of Boyle Heights for over thirty years before retiring in 2013. Andy’s mother, a Boyle Heights native in her own right, taught at Santa Isabel School. His family has been active parishioners at both Resurrection Church and Our Lady of Talpa, where Andy previously served as a Catechist. In his spare time, Andy performs stand-up and improv comedy in addition to religiously following the Dodgers and Los Angeles Football Club.
